15th International Paraathletics Meeting in L'Hospitalet - Sauleda Grand Prix

Next Saturday, October 31st, the fifteenth edition of the International Athletics Meeting for athletes with disabilities will be held in the Esportiu de l’Hospitalet Nord Complex in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). Organized by the Pere Suñé Foundation and L’Hospitalet Atletisme and sponsored by Sauleda, with the hope of sharing the values of the Paralympic sport in its purest form, for one more year, focusing on effort and improvement.

This time, Sauleda supports the celebration of an adapted athletics event based on its objetives, protecting people's health and the enviornment and carrying out outdoor activities in a clean and safe space.

It is a different edition, since the difficulty of attending of athletes from other countries and the limitation of the public in the stadium, is evident. It has been a challenge for both the organizing team and its participants, who train daily to overcome barriers and face new challenges.

This event is a world reference in adapted sport and almost 150 athletes from more than 5 countries will attend the event, despite its tight schedule.

Although it is true that current medical demands have reduced the participation of foreign athletes, national athletes will give it their all with their sights set on the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games and L'Hospitalet is offering them this great opportunity to achieve this goal.

In this 15th edition, we will have athletes with international medals and even World Records. Sara Andrés, record holder in woman in 100 meters, will try to repeat the results achieved last year in the long jump, accompanied by other current athletes at the state level such as Martín Parejo, Xavier Porras, Sara Martínez or Meritxell Playà. All of them with the intention of achieving the minimum needed for the Games and the European Championships.

The World runners-up, Yassine Ouhdadi and Mari Carmen Paredes in the 500 meters and marathon in the T12 category respectively, local athletes wearing L'Hospitalet Atletisme shirt, will also be present. They will also compete against Iván Soriano, Laia Fabra or Iván Hernández and will fight for victory.
